Ellen Dorros’ design background spans not only multiple facets of the entertainment industry, but also that of commercial and residential interior design and project management. Having been directly responsible for managing teams for millions of dollars in furniture and design projects from a wide range of healthcare facilities to restaurants to spas to residential condominiums to multimillion dollar national corporate offices, Ellen brings decisiveness, attention to detail, and an unmatched ability to develop strikingly compelling designs and visions for every project, with an ever-conscious focus on meeting budgetary and timeline requirements.
Ellen is a Production Designer and Set Decorator for numerous television commercials, theatrical films, music videos, celebrity fitness videos, and web series, among other entertainment projects. Ellen is often engaged for her expertise in historical works or “period pieces.” Her educational background is in design management, industrial and communications design, and marketing, with a Masters Degree from Pratt Institute and an Undergraduate Degree from Hofstra University. Her film degree is from the school of hard work and apprenticeship, working countless hours on student films, freebies and finally graduating to paid work! Whether a television commercial, a music video, or feature film, Ellen approaches each project with the same fever, professionalism, focus on detail, and desire to create designs that not only wow the eye, but further the storyline and draws in the audience. Understanding that great storytelling requires powerful design, Ellen has helped mold many entertainment projects into vivid, compelling, and thrilling journeys for audiences.
